OUTDOOR LEARNING IN THE OXFORD HILLS
Roberts Farm Experiential Learning
Our learning experiences are made possible by a unique collaboration of community partners:
-
The Experiential STEM teacher creates and facilitates outdoor, hands-on lessons aligned with 5th grade curriculum, manages the systems and routines for MSAD 17 classes to access outdoor learning at Roberts Farm, and expands outdoor programs that spark interest and increase student engagement. The Experiential STEM program is made possible in part by the Maine DOE's Climate Education Grant.
-
The Growing Healthy Kids program is focused on expanding physical activity programming across the Oxford Hills region, encouraging students to build healthy habits in physical activity and nutrition, and reducing childhood overweight and obesity rates in Oxford County. Healthy Oxford Hills receives funding from the New Balance Foundation to make this program possible.
